Melih Yıldız is an aerospace engineer at Erciyes University, Kayseri. He studied aeronautical engineering at Istanbul Technical University, completed a master’s degree in business administration, and earned his doctorate at Anadolu University on electrical energy storage and its use in aviation.

Before academia he spent two decades in the Turkish defence and technology sector, at STM, Anel Tech and Gate Elektronik, moving from quality and systems engineering to business development, R&D coordination and project management. That period included battery system design, battery management systems for hybrid vehicles and their integration into platforms.

His research now concentrates on electric and hybrid-electric propulsion, digital twins in aircraft design, hydrogen and sustainable fuels, and solar-powered stratospheric platforms. He also writes on the history of technology and society in Anatolia.
